Girl, 15, Had Sex With 25 Boys In High School Bathroom

After school ended on a Tuesday, it is believed that South Fort Myers High School’s various male students had sex with a 15-year-old girl in school campus’ bathroom.

The following day, the County Sheriff’s Office’s school-based deputy, Jarrod Cantrell, was reported about the incident by Principal Melissa Layner.

According to an LCSO report, the deputy, Cantrell, saw 25 boys go inside the bathroom while the girl was inside there, using a video captured by a hallway camera.

The female student in this incident confirmed that she had sex with various willing male students, when the principal spoke to her.

This incident was reported to the Florida Abuse Hotline and because of the girl’s age, the special victims unit was called in.

Some of the male students gave sworn statements to detectives and with the parent’s permission, the detectives took a student’s cell phone for evidence.

“We are not going to discuss discipline in any capacity, including numbers,” said Lee schools’ spokeswoman Amity Chandler, when asked asked how students were disciplined.

In a message sent to parents the same week, South Forth Myers’ principal claimed that student discipline was dealt quickly, she said that she would not speak about student discipline to parents of other students or the media.

She said, “The incident this week should not be a reflection on our combined efforts, administration, students, and teachers, to keep our building and students secure and safe. Providing our students coooperate with the expectations articulated to them each day, our school is a safe place for student learning and after school activities.”

The school has around 2,000 students, according to the principal.

She further explained that even though the school is responsible for safety concerns, students are still expected to know how to behave when they are on school grounds whenever there is an organized event.

She said, “I think parents understand that we cannot control the behaviors of every student, and when students enter campus, they are entering into a relationship with school administrators where they are expected to adhere to some norms and some rules. And these students did not do that.”

She said, “High schools have all sorts of after-school activities e.g. sports, tutoring, clubs.”

The principal didn’t answer exactly why the students were on campus after school hours.

She said that the students were involved in extracurricular activities, athletics or other, they participate in a study hall between 1:47 p.m to 2:30 p.m. The incident in the bathroom also took place during these hours.
